Peter Bass is a distinguished professional serving as the General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer for the Stratos Portfolio of Companies. Additionally, he holds membership in Kingswood Holding LLC, an investment and advisory firm with a strategic focus on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East.
Prior to his current roles, Peter held the position of Managing Director at Promontory Financial Group, where he specialized in regulatory risk and compliance for global financial institutions. Notably, he also served as Vice President and Chief of Staff to the President and co-Chief Operating Officer at Goldman Sachs, bringing his expertise to the forefront of one of the world’s leading financial institutions.
Peter’s extensive career in government includes senior roles such as Executive Assistant to the National Security Advisor at The White House and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Energy, Sanctions, and Commodities at the U.S. Department of State. In the latter capacity, he concurrently served as Vice Chairman of the Governing Board of the International Energy Agency, showcasing his leadership on the global stage.
In addition to his corporate and governmental roles, Peter is actively involved in various leadership positions and philanthropic endeavors. He currently serves as Vice Chair of Freedom House, Treasurer and Director of The American Ditchley Foundation, Treasurer of the Japan America Society of Washington, DC, and is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs at the Council on Foreign Relations, where he holds a life membership.
Peter holds an undergraduate degree in Public & International Affairs from Princeton University and earned his law degree from Yale Law School. Based in Washington, DC, he brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and a global perspective to his multifaceted roles in the Stratos Portfolio of Companies and Kingswood Holding LLC.
